What is a Digital ID?
A Digital ID is a digital record of a fan’s identity, safely stored and encrypted with us (or a third party). It is used for authentication purposes – for example, when buying a ticket. The authentication process checks if the biometrics on record in a fan’s Digital ID match with the person in selfie. Thereby, we make sure it is the fan attempting to buy a ticket, and not a bot.
Why do fans have to register in order to buy a ticket?
Registration is required for a Digital ID only. It is a one-off effort and takes less than a minute to complete – once done, a Digital ID of a fan will be used for authentication. This is to deter bots and make the ticket buying process transparent and fair.
Can a fan buy tickets for friends?
Rules for tickets are set that are embedded into the tickets. The system checks on these rules when completing an action, or when a fan intends to do so. If the right to buy tickets for friends is granted, the system will automatically enforce that rule.
Each fan has to register for a Digital ID. The tickets will only be awarded to the fan’s friends after successful verification for and authentication against their respective Digital ID. If no verification and authentication take place, the ticket price (incl. fees) will be re-credited and the tickets put onto the market again.
Information on each ticket holder is gathered by the system automatically.
How can a fan resell a ticket?
See above. If the rules grant a fan the right to resell a ticket, the system will automatically adhere to this rule.
How can artists get in touch with fans?
Artists are able to message fans directly via addressable tickets.
How do ticketing companies integrate NOVA?
NOVA is provided as a Single API. Integration into existing ticketing systems is simple and requires little effort.
